For a variety of reasons it has been a few years since I last went to Midnight Communion on Christmas Eve at our local church. As my children are getting older, I suggested to my wife that attending Midnight Communion would be a good way to start Christmas. Fortunately I checked the church magazine for the start time as it turns out that there is no Midnight Communion instead there is "Midnight in Bethlehem Mass". While this might be a pleasant service it starts at half past nine in the evening as Bethlehem is in a different time zone and the communion is not actually on Christmas Day (in the time zone where we live) which to my mind misses the point of having Midnight Communion.
