I have been working for the same client for several years but yesterday I had the opportunity to visit the client's offices in Lisbon and meet people in person for the first time.
The official reason for the visit was a workshop to discuss plans for the coming year particularly since the system I work on went live last year. I found the workshop useful and it was definitely great getting to meet all the people that I have been working with for the last few years.
On the downside the visit was for one day. It meant getting up at 2AM in order to drive to Heathrow airport for a flight at 6AM. That landed in Lisbon about half past eight and then I had to use the underground to get to the client's office. The flight back was at 18:40 and it was almost midnight by the time I arrived home.
