Today is the twentieth anniversary of when I started work for my current employer.
When I joined twenty years ago I was not sure how long I would want to work for the company This was mainly because I was not sure that I could manage the commute after being able to walk to my previous place of employment (which never turned out to be an issue and for many years I have worked mainly at home).
The anniversary was fairly uneventful. I had a couple of balloons on my desk (which I had kept back from a corporate event last year) and I received an email from the head of my business unit offering to let me expense a meal/take-away with my wife and family.
