Email from the police

My father forwarded me an email earlier. The email had come from his local police force and judging by the subject of the email was a warning about a postcode scam. I am not certain what the email was about because the email simply said "Please find attached Postcode parcel scam!" Presumably the details of the scam were contained in the attached Word document. While it is laudable that the police send out such warnings (although some are simply urban myths) it is regretable that the content is in a document since this encourages people to open attachments in unsoliciated emails. My father has fed back my comments to the sender of the email but my brother (who works in security) commented that he has received email warnings containing attachments from other police agencies who should know better than a local bobby.
